"God is not surprised by infertility and adoption is not His Plan B."
These were the words spoken by one of the founders of America World Adoption Agency, words that soothed by broken and weary heart as I sat and listened to them via DVD at an America World adoption seminar in March of 2008. Words that have become the title for our three adoption journeys - God's Plan A for Mike and Amy.
God's Plan A for Mike and Amy - In May 2008 we applied to the Ethiopia program through America World with the desire to bring two children into our home. On October 20, 2009, we received the call - "We have two little boys for you!" We traveled to Ethiopia and our boys arrived home in February 2010.
God's Plan A for Mike and Amy continues in DRCongo - Sitting at an adoption conference at MLJ Adoptions in Indianapolis, Indiana in the Fall of 2011, we had planned to hear and learn some great post adoption information. We had not planned on hearing from the Lord and being called to an adoption from the Democratic Republic of Congo. But that was God's plan! On November 13, 2012 we received the call - "We have a little boy for you if you are interested!" Yes, yes, and again yes! After being stuck in DRCongo's exit letter suspension, we were finally able to bring our boy home on March 26, 2016.
God's Plan A for Mike and Amy continues in China - A little girl from China, the Lord first laid this thought on my heart when I was 23 years old and this sweet girl was worth the wait! A year after bringing Danny home, we were applying to America World's China special needs program. On March 13, 2018 - way sooner than we expected - the call came, "I have exciting news for your family! We have a 4 year old little girl for you!!" We traveled to China in June and our beauty arrived home June 22, 2018.
Our family is complete and we praise God for how He chose to grow it. While the journey has in no way been easy, we have been blessed beyond measure by God's goodness and faithfulness in the process. I would love to answer any questions you may have about adoption or about our adoption journey. Please do not hesitate to contact me!
